| 1. | Open Tablet Calendar by going to Start > Programs > Tablet Calendar. |
| The main calendar window appears with the current month showing and the current day selected. You can scroll though each week by using the scroll bar at the right or you can browse month by-month using the right and left arrows next to the Month caption at the top of the calendar. You can also click on the Month caption to display a Date Selection dialog for choosing a specific date. |

| In this tutorial, we will assume that the current date is August 18, 2004. In this tutorial we will jot down our "winning" lottery numbers for today! |

| 2. Double-click on today's date. |
| This opens the Editor window. This is where you will enter all your free-hand text. |

| 3. Click on the Red Marker Tool. |
| When you click on the different pen, marker, and highlighter tools, the Drawing tool located on the left of the toolbar changes to the one you select. |

| 4. Write LOTTERY NUMBERS |

| 5. Click on the Green Marker Tool. |
| The drawing tool changes. |
| |
| |
| 6. Write down two sets of lottery numbers. |
| The result should be similar to what is displayed below (of course your lucky numbers can vary!). |

| 7. Next, click on the Selection Tool. |
| |
| 8. Draw a circle around the first set of lottery numbers. |
| This set of lottery numbers becomes selected. |

| 9. Click on the Orange Marker Tool. |
| The selected numbers change to orange. |

| Note: | To change selected text to a color already active on the toolbar, you must first choose another color, then switch back to the previous color. |

| 10. Next click on the Green Highlighter and add some emphasis. |
| In the example below, an asterisk was added a long with an underline. |

| Note: | If you want to search for any handwritten text you have created, it is recommended that you do not Ink/Highlight over it. This may confuse the Tablet PC Recognizer for correctly understanding the text you added. |
