Searching Your Notes
Previous  Top

Tablet Calendar provides a search feature that locates text written on your pages.
Note that recognition may not always work as expected. In some cases the Tablet PC recognizer may not
correctly recognize text if you are not consistent in your handwriting. Thus, to increase recognition and to maximize the potential of using the Tablet Calendar search feature, we recommend the following tips:

·Use key words when creating a project.
For example, in the Working with Multiple Notes tutorial, the first page contains keywords that help simplify search tasks.
·Limit highlighting text or drawing circles/squares around text. This can decrease proper recognition.
·Try to keep your writing style consistent.
·Use the eraser tool to erase eligible text instead of trying to fix the word by writing over it.

This tutorial assumes that you followed the previous tutorials. We recommend that you experiment with different search words and writing to get a feel of how much leeway the Tablet PC recognizer provides. As you continue to use your Tablet PC, your ability to write and locate text will greatly improve.

1.Open Tablet Calendar by going to Start > Programs > Tablet Calendar.

2.Click on the Find… Tool.

3.Type a word to locate.
This example looks for the work Golf.

4.   Click current month only to turn on this option.

5.   Click on Find…
In this example we are looking for any pages that contain the world golf for the current month of August 2004. Selecting the current month greatly increases the speed of a search. If you are not sure which month Tablet Calendar is searching, then take a look at the Month caption at the top of Tablet Calendar's main window.
If no records exist, a message will appear displaying the text it recognized from your handwriting.

6.   Uncheck current month only.

7.   Click on Find…
In this example two pages were returned. The first one contains a reminder for September 23 at 5 PM. The second one (located on page 3 of the same date) has no reminder associated with it.

9.   Click on the thumbnail.
Clicking on the thumbnail is the same as clicking on the Open label. The selected item is opened into the Editor. Rather than clicking on the Open label you can also Copy the entire page to the clipboard and paste to another date or into another application.

When you close the editor window, you will automatically go to the calendar date indicated at the top of the Editor window.
